Unit 3: Working Together
This unit children will learn about work in the community. They will discuss income as it relates to spending and saving. They will differentiate between goods and services and will follow the process of taking a product from farm to factory to consumer. As the unit concludes, they will investigate an discull trade and barter.

- Children will learn the meaning of the word tax. They will also learn how taxes are used to pay for services provided to the community.
- Children will learn the meaning of the word factory. They will trace the development of a product from a natural resource to a finished product.
- Children will learn about how people spend and save their money. They will also learn different ways people can pay for goods and services they buy.
- Children will learn the meaning of the terms trade and transportation. They will explore the ways in which countries exchange goods by using different means of transportation.
- Children will learn what it means to barter. They will learn how people in the past got goods and services without using money.
